Originally launched in 1987, the SI9000 was the world’s first enamel rater to incorporate integrated body contact and electrolyte level checks – innovations that redefined lacquer integrity testing. CONTINUING THE LEGACY The SI9200 continues this legacy as a direct evolution of the SI9100, maintaining the industry-standard conductivity method and proven testing core that manufacturers have trusted for decades. While the fundamental measurement technology remains world-class, the user interface and electronics have been completely transformed. Featuring a new icon-driven, 7-inch color TFT LCD with a wide viewing angle and a tactile membrane keypad, the SI9200 ensures fast, fail-safe operation in demanding production environments while keeping Sencon’s foundational ‘world first’ technology equipped for the next generation of can-making. Enhanced Efficiency and Reliability To increase throughput, the SI9200 features auto-start and auto-save functions that eliminate unnecessary button presses by detecting the insertion and removal of a can. Reliability is further bolstered by continuous, fail-safe self-monitoring. The system automatically checks electrolyte levels and body contact before and during every test to prevent false ‘good’ readings. Active voltage sensing and automatic compensation ensure that results remain stable and repeatable. Built for the Production Floor Designed for a long service life with minimal maintenance, the SI9200 is housed in a rugged, IP65-rated polyurethane enclosure that is both waterproof and corrosion-resistant. To reduce exposure to electrolyte splashing, the unit includes an integrated VESA 100x100 mounting plate, allowing it to be easily installed on a standard monitor arm. For those looking to enhance their process confidence, Sencon is also launching the SI9201 and SI9202 can stands, designed specifically for use with the SI9200. These stands bring the advanced self-checking capabilities of Sencon’s fully automatic enamel raters to the benchtop for the first time. At the start of each batch, the SI9200 automatically checks the leakage and current of the new stands to ensure they are operating correctly. Visual confirmation is provided by integrated LEDs within the can stand itself. This automated procedure significantly reduces the reliance on operators to perform manual checks prior to testing, ensuring that every batch begins with a verified system.
