ENDS GLORIOUS ENDS: ONE GAUGE FOR BOTH FOOD AND BEV

Sencon's all-in-one shell and progression measurement gauge is for food as well as beverage ends

Have you ever wanted more from your end measurement systems? Sencon’s ES8000 is an all-in-one system which can measure shells and EOE progressions on both food and beverage ends in a single, compact, free-standing unit.

SHELLS AND PROGRESSIONS, BEVERAGE OR FOOD

The ES8000 can be specified as a Shell Gauge, a Progression Gauge, or with the benefits of both as a combined Shell and Progression Gauge. All three configurations can measure both food and beverage ends together in one system. The gauge accepts shells and converted ends of all current round styles, including colored ends/tabs and food ends with off-center rivets, from 113 to 307 diameter. The unit has three input drawers, each of which can be set up for either food or beverage ends of different sizes. Dawers can quickly and easily be reconfigured to accept different end types and sizes. Plants benefit in multiple ways:

  • Reduced investment costs
  • Less floor-space occupied
  • Better use of gauging resources
  • More measurement flexibility
  • Less operator training requirements
  • Half the maintenance and calibration cost

POWERFUL OPTICAL TECHNOLOGY

Sencon’s specially developed dual laser End-Scan™ technology rapidly scans both surfaces of the product simultaneously for the fastest throughput on the market. The non-contact measurement system also eliminates operator influence on results, ensuring best-in-class R&R, and has other significant benefits too.

Shell and progression measurements that are made with contact technologies are necessarily offset in different positions for different features due to mechanical limitations. Sencon’s optical system allows all measurements to be made from a single cross section, which helps accurate visualization of features and easier tooling adjustment.

Sencon’s all-in-one ES8000 system can measure shells and EOE progressions on both food and beverage ends in a single unit.

VIRTUAL SECTIONING™

The gauge's groundbreaking Virtual Sectioning™ feature shows complete and accurate profiles of all progression stages, including material thickness, without the time consuming and destructive task of cutting, embedding in resin and polishing sectioned ends for microscopic analysis. Using advanced imaging and computational techniques, Virtual Sectioning™ enables precise and repeatable analysis of progression profiles with the ability to zoom in instantly on fine detail. This non-destructive method eliminates deformation inconsistencies caused by manual sectioning and enhances quality control efficiency by significantly reducing time spent analysing mesurements. Virtual Sectioning™ also allows for rapid data collection and comparison across multiple samples, accelerating investigations into defects early in the production process.

FULL TRACEABILITY

The gauge supports full traceability to press, lane, rotation, and sampling time. For larger plants with higher measurement requirements, ES8000 gauges can be operated 24/7 for whatever measurements are prioritized at any given time on both food and beverage ends.

Sencon’s unique ES8000 gauging system is proving to be a game changer on end making lines across the world. Especially if you’re producing both food and beverage ends in the same plant, the ES8000 will definitely give you more for less – more measurements, more flexibility and more control, for less space, less time and lower costs. What’s not to like?
