These rugged and reliable timers and drivers improve response times, reduce switching variations and minimize solenoid heat build-up. The specialized switching system significantly reduces variations in solenoid reaction times, resulting in more uniform film weights. This enables control limits to be set to minimum required levels with no loss of quality or consistency.

Sencon continues to set the standard for spray timer systems. Using ‘intelligent’ power management of the spray gun solenoid, these drivers improve response times, reduce switching variations and minimize solenoid heat build-up. Timer units are accurate to sub-millisecond range. As an added feature, these systems incorporate built-in logic to suit virtually all spray machine configurations.
The original Sencon Lacquer Spray Timer system (LST) was designed when spray guns were powered by 12 Watt coils and spray machines ran at 100 cpm, with delays of up to half a second between consecutive sprays. Today, spray guns are operated directly by 30 to 40 Watt coils with less than 150 milliseconds between sprays. This means that the original LST design is now operating at the limit of or even just outside its operational capability.
A further development has been the introduction of the Micro Electronic Gun (MEG™ Gun), which establishes a correct spray pattern within a few milliseconds and requires current rather than voltage drivers. In recognition of these developments, Sencon has introduced an upgrade path for all users capable of driving the most advanced spray guns currently available.
The specialized switching system significantly reduces variations in solenoid reaction times, resulting in more uniform film weights. This enables control limits to be set to minimum required levels with no loss of quality or consistency. Rapid payback is possible due to the volume of lacquer that these high performance systems can handle, and on their ability to reduce waste.
High ‘turn on’ power ensures the solenoid’s ability to overcome slow or sticky armatures, reducing the potential for short sprays or mis-sprays. Compatible with most guns, our ‘dual current’ spray timer systems have adjustable solenoid drivers, providing complete power matching and compatibility with most DC-powered spray guns (up to 40 Watt), including older voltage controlled guns and new current controlled guns.
Our 3 - digit timers allow spray sequences from 1 to 999 milliseconds or 0.1 to 99.9 milliseconds. An external clock input is also provided for machine based timing.
Sencon offers control packages ranging from 2 to 8 spray guns, either in panel mount form or complete with enclosure (larger systems and multiple front panels are available). Modular construction makes for simple and easy maintenance or repair.
The widely used A100-598P LST TIMER with thumbwheels (213-00598-00) is now obsolete. This is due to the thumbwheel selectors no longer being made. A conversion kit is available that makes upgrading easy with minimal work to install. Your original thumbwheel timer module is simply replaced with a digital version. Kits are available which are compatible with MEG™ and A20A guns.
The kit includes the timer module, compatible driver card and cabling.
The conversion kit can be used in a single LST22 timer system or in a multi-timer panel. You can mix thumb wheel and digital timers in the same panel. The digital timer will not affect other thumbwheel timers in the panel.
