Privacy Statement

Information from the Sencon web site is collected in the following ways:

Personal data submission and storage

The only personally identifying information processed by this web site is that which you freely provide if you choose to contact us to ask for information, quotations, customer service, or product support. This includes your name, email address, details about your organization, and other content you may enter into the web enquiry forms. We will only use this information to provide you with the services you request.

Like most businesses we keep a secure database of contacts and sales records. We also maintain a database of user details for customers who have registered with our online document library (TechInfo) and our online video training courses. Any personal data you submit is collected and stored in keeping with the UK Data Protection Act (2018) which implements the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) directive. Personal data will not be distributed, sold or disclosed to any third party except where authorized by you, if mandated by legitimate judicial authority, or as otherwise permitted by legislation such as the UK Data Protection Act and relevant regimes in other juridictions.

Non-personal data collection

Some non-personal (anonymous) data is automatically collected while you are interacting with the content on our site, including:

  • device screen size
  • device type and browser information
  • geographic location
  • pages visited, navigational paths and patterns
  • date and time when web pages were accessed

The sole purpose of collecting this information is to improve your experience when using our web services.

Cookies

Cookies are small data files transferred onto a user's browsing device (computer, tablet, or phone) by a web site for various purposes such as remembering preferences, usage analysis, or to enable and enhance interactive functionality on the website. The Sencon web site uses cookies to collect non-personal (anonymous) information which is limted to standard internet log data and recording patterns of user behaviour on our web pages. We do this to help provide you with a better experience, identify preferences, diagnose technical problems, analyse trends, and to improve our online presence.

Strictly necessary cookies are essential for carrying out some voluntary web based transactions e.g. sending a product enquiry or support requests (we use a cookie as part of a technical check on whether form data has been correctly sent by the server) or logging in to secure areas such as our TechInfo document library. Cookies defined as 'strictly necessary' are not used to gather information that could be used to advertise products or services to you. If you block these cookies you will not be able to sign in to secure areas of the site.

Performance cookies collect anonymous information about how you use our website e.g. which pages you visit and how you interact with functionality on the pages. These cookies do not collect any information that could identify you. This information is only used to help us improve how our website works, understand what interests our users, and assess the effectiveness of our promotional activity. Cookies defined as 'performance' cookies will not be used to gather information that could be used to advertise products or services to you on other websites. In common with many web sites these cookies are managed by Google Analytics. Google does not use the cookies for any purpose other than those discussed above (Google Privacy Statement).

Do not track (DNT) is a privacy option that is set by the user for each browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer). Google analytics, which is implemented on Sencon web pages, does not violate DNT requests because it only collates non-personal visitor data that is limited to this website and domain. When a user navigates to another site browsing details are not replicated or passed on. Sencon's web site does not carry third party advertising. We do not use cookies that link to third party services such as social networks or advertising agencies.

You can manage your own cookies. Acceptance of the cookie notification that appears at the bottom of our web pages, and/or continued use of the site, indicates that you are content with the use of cookies on this site. If you wish, you can set your browser preferences to reject all cookies (independent advice on doing this here). However, please note that by doing so some features of the website may become unavailable.
