X-seam-micro is a fully automated double seam measurement system designed for use on the shop floor as well as in the QA lab. It is the result of five years experience with ground breaking, non-destructive, X-ray double seam inspection. The latest system delivers unrivalled levels of measurement accuracy in a compact and affordable package.
Automated Seam Measurement Detailed images of the undisturbed double seam are generated using industrial X-ray imaging. Specially developed software analyses the images to find the metal edges and calculate key parameters of the seam with world class accuracy.
Images and data are instantly displayed on the gauge and can be transmitted for remote viewing across company networks. With no need for can tear down and no operator assessment of the seam measurement, X-seam micro not only reduces the operator time spent on this vital task, it completely eliminates operator error and bias.
Optional Online Auto Sampling - Each can is picked directly from the external conveyor. The handling system automatically adjusts for different can heights and is very tolerant to variations in can positioning. Once inspected the can is returned to the conveyor.
Washdown capable - X-seam micro is specially designed for hygenic use in the filling hall with a stainless steel construction built to IP67 standard. The gauge and the can handling mechanisms are fully washdown capable. Simple, robust mechanics add to its reliability, serviceability and user friendly operation.
Cost Effective - The X-seam micro has been developed from the outset to be highly cost effective to run and maintain. For example, the latest technology in “sealed-for-life” X-ray sources has been employed, which removes the need for complex support systems, keeps initial cost low and eliminates ongoing maintenance. The X-ray source is guaranteed for 18 months and has a typical life of three to five years.
