Inverted Blank Detector
prevent the formation of inside-out can bodies
The SC621 detects white coatings, gold varnishes but not clear lacquers
The SC631 detects white coatings, gold varnishes AND clear lacquers
If coated sheets or 'body blanks' are put back into the process upside down, the resulting cans will come out of the welder with their protective coating on the outside not on the inside. Eventually this could lead to badly corroded or blown cans after filling, or at the very least a to a whole batch of cans being held for inspection and sorting.
Sencon’s SC631 and SC621 are the only available sensors that allow you to reliably find those “inside-out” cans with lacquer on the wrong side. This is impossible with any other currently available sensor.
SC621 / 631 sensors are installed installed on the outfeed of the welder or after the sidestripe curing oven.

Clear Lacquers and VarnisheS
Detecting clear lacquers on metal sheet at line speed is particularly challenging. The highly specified SC631 Inverted Blank Detector has been specially developed to meet that need, while still detecting white coatings and gold varnishes. If you do not need to detect clear lacquers, the
SC621 may be used.
