Electrical discharge between a can and a can-on-mandrel sensor may cause false tripping and other control errors on coating and decorating machines. Sencon P5-series sensors use fixed signal pulse duration to eliminate these errors.

Reduce Stoppages

Sencon’s range of Metal Discriminating Sensors includes special versions (identified by the ‘P5’ suffix to the model number) to meet these special conditions in coater and decorator machines. These sensors always provide a pulse of 12ms even if a discharge stops the oscillator

Better System Control

These models have all the proven benefits of Sencon’s high performance sensors, plus the fast response times and unrivalled positive discrimination between mandrel and can materials which is needed to ensure correct operation of the control system.

Rugged Construction

All Sencon metal discriminating sensors are fully encapsulated in non-hygroscopic materials, and are highly resistant to shock, vibration, coolant oils and humidity.

Complete and Compatible

All 200 Series metal discriminating sensors are equipped with both PNP and NPN outputs, and are supplied complete with mounting nuts.
